car wont lock!.....but u dont know that

just finished installing a 5 set gauge from glowshift. i taped into stereo for constant/switched 12V. i used the same wire when i installed my viper alarm. could the shared wire between viper and gauges cause one not to work? and why one and not the other? or was i just a little bit careless and snagged a wire. the gauge install was my first DIY using a solder and shrink wrap if i indeed did snag a wire it would make sense that it would be the viper wires rather than gauges. as i used those taps that u crimp down and use electrical tape (sloppy). any help is appreciated. TIA

found out that i snagged the harness clip out of my receiver for my viper alarm when installing a pillar gauge set. plugged that puppy back in, and voila! security!
