Suggestions: Headers

Should i go with equal length or unequal length headers? Equal length i'll have a better spool with the new turbo and higher power out put, but I wont have the boxer rumble ... Grimmspeed Port and polish ceramic coated stock headers i'll have a little improved exhaust flow to spool up the turbo but i'll have more lag than the equal length ... god its so hard to choose between the two. Oh and the price ... Tomei equal length is 745 shipped and stock PnP ceramic coated is 579 w/ a 140 core deductible. Btw im going to run a vf39 on my 04 wrx. Any good suggestions? Thank you~~

My personal choice...

My personal favorite is the APS EL header...it has an integrated 2 into 1 up-pipe they call a velocity stack...in my mind, it's one of the best...I've owned two cars using this setup...along with the APS 3.5" TBE...no complaints...

I also like the Perrin EL header as well...I ran a standard APS up-pipe with this set up using an FP Red turbo and APS 3" turboback exhaust and it made great power and spooled the turbo well...

I've always been a fan of EL headers...I never missed the suby rumble...to me, the unequal length header always sounded like a harley when I would rather hear the sound of a sport bike...

An EL header along with a lightened flywheel is like music to my ears...

Oh, BTW...Jarrad of PDXtuning has always tuned my cars...I trust only his tunes...

If you like the boxer rumble then don't do it. The difference in spool time will be very small. Be aware that aftermarket headers will shift your power band further up your rpm range. This will decrease power in the low rpm's but raise it at high rpm's. Because of that I would do the PnP+coated grimmspeed headers. And just because I like to go overboard I would also heat wrap them and put the stock heat shields back on as well.

And don't forget your up pipe. It should get the same PnP+ceramic coating and heat wrap in my opinion. All that trapped heat in the headers has to get through the up pipe before it gets to the turbo so why leave it untreated?

Well whats the decision??????
I would say EL or nothing. Why pay money for marginal gains of the grimspeed?????
