I have a QTP dp. JT-sti is the other person with the QTP dp and I believe he is the fastest STi on the island right now.

If you plan on racing your WRX then i would definitely recommend it. It has a valve that will turn your downpipe to a test pipe or open pipe. That means you are bypassing the rest of the catback exhaust and causing the least amount of restriction on your exhaust flow, which means better turbo spool up and more power. It is also louder than a mother f***er when the valve is wide open, but damn does it sound sweet at WOT. The valve can be opened up as little or as much as you want by holding down the switch. You may be able to get close with a free flowing turbo back exhaust but I don't believe you can match the flow of the QTP when it is fully opened.

The QTP was good for me because I wanted to keep the stock exhaust on my car because I live in a quiet neighborhood, (and my insurance person lives across the street from me too). So I was able to retain the stock catback exhaust and noise level when the valve is closed, but can open the valve at any time and have the benefits of a pretty much race exhaust system. Also because I didn't have to spend money for a catback exhaust I saved some money there.

While my STi's powertrain was completely stock I ran a best of 13.39 at 99.xx mph. I installed the QTP and ran a best of 13.23 at 100.xx mph. The QTP dp is the only mod to the powertrain i've done. I've only ran it once at the track, but I think I can go faster with more runs.

It may not be for everybody, but if it fits your needs I think it's an awesome product.

Yo! congratulations on your new mod....guess Im not the only one using it. Anyway, you may wanna consider resetting your ECU and maximise your IAM to get the most out of your QTP. I remember when I first used mine, I was disappointed cause I actually didnt get much improvement at first...I eventually ran a 12.9xxx @ 102.xxxmph with it. I think it takes 11+HP for each 1 mph improvement in the 1/4 mile trap speed for a car that weighs 3263lbs.

Update. I just ran a 13.120 @ 101.58 mph and backed it up with a 13.123 @102.69 mph. That's an improvement of 0.27 seconds compared to when I was stock and 3 mph increase in trap speeds. According to JT-Sti if 1 mph equals about 10 hp then I believe I've gained around 25-30 hp from the QTP dp. I think thats about what their website claims. I'm not sure what kind of gains I could have got from a turboback exhaust but I am happy with the QTP dp.

Great Job Steve!
All you need to do now is get some lessons from ThunderSTi (Jose) or Xile (Phil) on how to launch/shift...---guarantee 12's!!! P.S. I need to take lessons from them too
so I can beat my personal best....your 102.69mph trap is 1+ mph faster compared to Jose's 12.97xxx run!

Thanks guys!

Damn, Jose ran that 12.97 at 101.xx mph. That just goes to show you how awesome of a driver he is. Well at least I have something to shoot for. At least I know I'm making enough power to get into the 12's. Getting there may be another story though.

What are you talking about Joe? I need to take lessons from you too!

Steve...looks like the

bug has bit you...wow!

You guys are running really fast times.

I went out to the tracks last night, thinking it was the barbecue night for some reason...didn't see a single suby out there...came home and realized that it was Friday night...

anyhow, saw a few evo's out there (white and red)...running high 13's...those things either were driven by bad drivers or they bog big time off the line...no low end at all...

Brent, you should come out on a Friday night, that's usually when all the subie guys are at the tracks. I'll be there this Friday and I think Norris said he'll be there also.

Don't be fooled by those evo guys. The car has the potential, but I think they are afraid to launch there cars hard. Problem is, is that these all wheel drive cars' 1/4 mile times are determined largely on the starting line.

There is a white evo 8 rs that is running in the low 12's. Faster than any STi on the island.

That would be me also... scared to launch hard... but after trying it on friday to launch at 4500rpm.. it shows the car potential...

Brent, just come out!

Note: Hard to beat traffic on Friday, will show up around 8pm...if sat, I can show up earlier and do more runs...less traffic...
