New clutch supposed to drag?

I just put in a "new" clutch, supposedly <500 miles on it, it's super light on the pedal and drags a bit with the pedal to the floor. I bled out the hydraulics and rechecked the engagement of the fork in the TOB and it all looks good, but it's still dragging a bit.

Is this normal and I'm just being paranoid or do I have an issue? I can get it into gear and the car tries to pull forward a bit, but nothing that a light brake application doesn't take care of. Drive it or yank the bugger out and replace it with a really new one?

Crap. Wrong forum. Can someone move it? Also, why is the delete button there if I can't delete my thread?

Chatter is normal, you might have buildup in the clutch that is getting worn off. Or it isn't sprung correctly. Can you adjust the spings like you can in a diff? Worst case scenario, and if you don't want to pull it out again, just slip the **** out of it until it stops!

LOL, yah, it doesn't chatter any more than my old one did, especially considering my lightweight flywheel. It just feels strange enough that I'm worried it's installed wrong. I guess the worst that can happen is it blows the clutch and I need a tow.

The springs aren't adjustable as far as I can tell.

And it's official, the guy that installed the ra gears originally was an idiot. The 1st driven gear was wobbling on the shaft and there were chunks of tooth floating around in the case. On the plus side I'm going to have a nice ra box with an obx diff when is all done.

Yay! :happydance: Seems like it just needed a good bleed. I vacuum sucked a half bottle of brake fluid through it then followed it up with a few pedal pump bleeds and it seems to be working fine. The pedal is still lighter than before, but the engagement point is good and it doesn't drag.

I don't see how it could have gotten air in it, but I think it's good to go now. Thanks guys.
