Last time I bought sounds out here, I dealt with Mobile Car Audio. I think they're really pricey now, but they've always done good work. Send DrVortex a PM. He has a nice install that was done at Special T, I think.

I like Special-T they are real good guys and for alarms I heard Install-Tech is good. Circuit City did initial alarm install and had Special-T fix it later..And install more features.

Damn that's weak. They dented your car!?! That's some horrible service there.

Is someone here associated with Mobile Car Audio in Aiea? I always see a blue rex parked there.

When did this happen? I'm sorry to hear this happened and I'd like to know more.....I find it hard to believe that they wouldn't take responsibility for the dent if it really was caused by them. Island Sound is one of the oldest local shops (20+ yrs) and arguably has had the best reputation over the years. Nothing against the other shops but right now they're the only ones I'd let work on my STI.

About the alarm.....its not uncommon for Clifford alarms w/options to go for $900+ (there's a reason Viper is cheaper), but it sucks they charged him more.

What options did you go with (I'm guessing pre-entry, paging, etc)? Was this a solid quote or was it a rough quote due to certain options?

I've been dealing with Hank a lot lately so if you'd like I can talk to him and try and help you work things out. Just give me some info

Security and Sound is on Beretania near McCully. They are a Viper dealer (don't believe they sell the Matrix line but could be wrong) and have been for a long time. If you're looking to get something from Cliffords Matrix line you could just get a Viper (the Matrix is not a true Clifford) from them.

The Matrix line uses DEI technology (viper, python, etc) and thats why they are comparable in price and features. The Intelliguard and Concept lines are true Clifford. IMHO they are superior to the other offerings from DEI but people argue this daily

More than anything you need to find a good installer.....and like many things in life.....you get what you pay for

I've dealt with Island Sound before, and had positive experiences with them. Their prices are higher than others, but they do good work. I found them to be pleasant to deal with. They knew their stuff and were very courteous. Sorry to hear about your situation though.
Security and Sound is pretty good. I had a couple of positive experiences with them. They were cool, prices were fair, and they did good work. I had one negative experience with them though, which will forever turn me away from them. I've steered others away from them as well.
Right now, I'd recommend Installtech. They did a Clifford 750 alarm install, WITH the turbotimer function on my girlfriend's car for $400. That INCLUDES installation. That was 200 bucks less than what Island Sound quoted me. They did a quick, quality install, they know their stuff, and were very polite.

I've dealt

with Mobile Car Audio. They're pricey, but good. S2K Joey had his stuff done by Security and Sound. If you go there, mention his name, it might save you some money.
