Where can I find some AMSoil
Where can I find some AMSoil
Its about time for another oil change. So far I have only used AMSoil and I decided to stick with it on this one. Checked out Rons near nimitz but looks like they were all sold out...Can anyone tell me where else I could look? Not sure if we have another Rons store on island. Hmm, maybe I should just use something else like mobile 1 where I can get almost anywhere.

You can go to their online store, http://www.amsoil.com/ , and get hooked up there. You, being in Hawaii, will definitely get a better deal if you become a preferred member or a dealer. It's something around $25, and, if you order more than 2 cases (sell some to the Hawaii guys) you make your money back. If I was still out there I would become the official HIIC AMSOIL seller. Just sell it at whatever your cost is. Should be a little more than Mobil 1.
Mobil1 is good stuff. You should even be able to find it at your Costco. It's also a lot cheaper. I used to use Mobil1 in both my 330i and TT, but since we got rid of the 330i, I switched to AMSoil's Turbo formula. Reason being is that I had a coupon which brought the price down to what Costco is selling Mobil1 for. I didn't notice any changes performance wise so I'm going to switch back to Mobil1 after I use up my cases of AMSoil.
i bought my amsoil gear oil from parts plus in waipahu. i'm not sure if they have motor oil but call can find out. 677-1440 or kalihi 848-0961. their gear oil was a couple dollars cheaper than rons.

The gear oil is slick... too slick if you've managed to jack up your synchro's. I like it other than that. Even when I mis-shift it is nice and slick. Not like the OEM stuff that gets all viscous and sticky when you miss a 2nd-3rd shift at high revs. Of course, I'm going back to OEM when I swap. My 4th gear is totally ######.
