What would you do?

I just bought a Stomung dual tip catback for $450. I PM'd back and forth with the company and I asked how much shipping would be.

Chris,

Is this for the Catback? I've got a Greddy now and don't know if the axleback would fit up to my midpipe.

Do you still have these in stock?

What would shipping to HI, 96786 be? How soon do you think it would arrive?

Just window shopping for now.
Thanks

Pat McDaniel

Pat,

I do have these in stock. They are catbacks, and I can do them shipped to your door for $450.
Then they emailed me back saying that there had been some sort of glitch in the matrix and shipping would actually be another $80. I've already paypal'd them the $450.

I emailed them back with the above quote, but I ain't holding my breath.

What shall I do, Dear Abby?

I say bull****!!! it's in writing saying that he can do $450 shipped to your house! since you've already paid he should not make you pay again... it's not your fault that the system "Glitched" or he ****ed up when calculating the shipping! I think you should tell him that you paid the amount that you were quoted and that he should honor the price regardless!

Again it's not your fault it's their fault... you have got the quote so that's your backing..

Good luck!

Jon

truthfully, i don't think he had a "glitch" i'm guessing he went to the post office to actually check out how much it is, and it came up more, thats not your fault, he should take responsibilty and you should get it 450shipped!

I'm pretty pissed because I really wanted that and I know he'll probably try to weasel out, then I've got a fight on my hands.

Why can't everybody be like Gruppe-S?

If they quoted you a certain price and they misquoted, they have to eat it...simple as that...I'd call them and give them hell, and never do business with them again. I know I won't.

If they give you crap, just make it simple and get your money back, Pat. If you've got a lot of time on your hands, then by all means fight to get it shipped for the original price agreed upon.

I have to say, however, that even at $530 shipped to your door that is an outstanding price! I paid something like $620 shipped to CA and I thought that was a great deal for a Strömung 3" dual-tip catback from a great Vendor here on i-Club. We're talking brand new, right?

you can give him hell, .... but guess what, ..... you're here, he's on the mainland, he is the one who actually has to ship it, you're sh*t out of luck.
It's worth trying to argue about, but I Seriously doubt you're going to win. Good luck!!!

**what made you want this exhaust so bad anyway?**

Yup, brand new. I'm curious, what do you think of your setup? Does it weigh any more than some other aftermarket exhausts?

Thanks for your response.

Sean, I was looking for something that still provided good flow/power/tq, didn't have the fartcan look and resembled stock, and maybe something with a little more noise. I never gave weight any thought, though. Thanks for the heads up.

I'm still on the fence because I know it's a great deal (which, of course, has got me suspicious. Especially since the deal has turned a little shady) My heart won't be broken if I end up having to ask for my money back...unless they refuse or try and charge some BS fee.
