My bov is fluttering. It's a Sard mounted on the y-pipe behind the intercooler. I checked the lines everything seems fine. I washed the engine off with water then the following day the bov flutters. The boost controller is reading the boost. Well any input will be appreciated.

Does it flutter all the time or tends to do it only when cold?

You might want to inspect the bov for a sticky valve / piston. I'm not entirely familiar with the Sard BOV specifically, but the easiest thing to check if the bov just started "fluttering" recently for no reason is a sticky piston.

If you can, inspect it for smooth operation. Most basic piston-type BOV's need periodic cleaning / lubrication.

 

When the bolts aren't in the intercooler mount it works fine. When I bolt everything up thats when it starts to flutters, also when I rev it in neutral. When i'm driving I don't hear anything. I'm going to lubercate the bov I haven't tried that yet I hope it works....

could it be compressor surge and no the bov?

if it flutters when you are on the gas, it is compressor surge.

if it flutters as soon as you let off of the gas, it is compressor stall.

Yo dont want compressor stall. it will destroy your turbo.

not recirculating is a bad idea in general.

However if you must "blow off" be sure that your spring tension is correct, and be sure that your blow off valve can flow enough air to relieve all of your compresed air.
