We are thinking of trying to set up a tour or at least on Oahu to get Travis Pastrana's Rally Show Car to Hawaii with all the bells and whistles

Is this something that My local brada's would like to see
I am working with Vermont Sports Car and Surfco to try get something going in Hawaii

We will need some input from you as to what you think about this

Maybe the 1st Hawaiian Auto Show would be better in Spring?

FYI They are going to try to get the car out to a RallyX Hawaii event while they are here.
This is really cool of them, I hope they get lots of support.

The "Rally" Show Car is a big pile of meh. Well at least the old one was. They brought it up to a dealership here in cincy and all it was just a bugeye with a 06/07 bumper - rally stickers - some interior stuff that a rally car would have - neat steering wheel - rally wheels/tires - a trailer with STi Pink parts - some crappy posters - a TV playing some videos.

That's it.

Now if the actual drivers were to come out and maybe run the car at an auto-x or something...that would be worth the trouble.

Seriously, some of the normal owners' cars that came out to see the "Rally" car were more impressive than that show-queen.

 

A lot of us out here trying to organize and get things going have learned not to complain when someone goes out of their way to support us. I think its awesome and I don't think it will be a let down. Yes, a driver would be super cool and it would be really awesome if he actually drove at a rallycross. But we are really happy just to have the cars offered.

This is to Support the Subaru of Hawaii dealership and to get interest for Rallycross and the track going.

I hope this happens, no one has offered to do anything like this out here before so I hope people are excited.

 

Well the dealership that paid for them to bring the car and the trailer closed down. Apparently, there were different levels of "showness" they could buy and they opted not to pay for Pastrana to come with the car.

I guess my big letdown was they were talking about it being an awesome rally car and what not...then when we come up to it, it's basically a stock WRX with enough mods to make it look like the rally car unless you actually looked hard or were able to get underneath. The big thing was they were hyping it so hard and then when the day came the biggest fun part of the day was eating at McDonalds. But you know what, maybe they've changed things and will bring a legit car!

Oh and I know ALL ABOUT organizing things for HIIC.
