Good call on Motul...Redline has NEVER worked well for either my Bugeye or my '04.

I have tried Redline, Valvoline Synthetic, Subaru OEM and Motul. The only one that has actually made shifting more enjoyable is Motul.

Redline specifically says not to use their smurf blood in a Subaru transmission.

I'm using redline right now in my trans and diff. Nothing going wrong here. Can't say if it really made a difference but there's surely no problems.

Smurf Juice feels so smooth in Shifts. I was using Valvoline 75w90 in the Break in of my Tranny. it was hard to get into gears.

i think paul is referring to the long term effects of using what is not recommended....i did read a thread (on nasioc) a few months back when i was debating doing the cocktail in my wrx....and the cocktail was analyzed and its probably the syncomesh, but that shyts supposedly no good for the trans...i decided not to do it....i ended up buying the mt90, cause i use that in my sti...but now having doubts whether i should use that or not:P might be best to stick to the stock fluids...idk...to each his own i guess

Amsoil w/ a bottle of GM Synchromesh in my 2003 WRX. Changed at 25K. Have 75K now with no problems.
