Not so much a secret...
Eh...ok, here it is again...I just didn't feel right posting it on I-Club...so I took it down, but I am a Subaru guy at heart so I guess it is ok...
Some History...
Being from Alaska, there is a big following of Subaru's in the Anchorage area...you can see old 79 wagons still pumping along...that kind of pushed me toward the Subaru's also I guess...but...
I've always liked both platforms...Subaru and Mitsubishi...I could have gone either way when I bought my Subaru...but back in 2003 when I bought my 04 STI, the Mitsubishi dealership sales people in Aiea were very unprofessional in my opinion...I couldn't even test drive an EVO...I met Greg at the Kaneohe Subaru, test drove an STI, and the next thing I know, I was driving a new PSM 04 STI home.
In 2006 when the Evo IX came out...the Graphite Gray EVO IX MR really caught my eye...I've always like this model with that particular color...anyhow, during my mourning period, I was cruising through Cragislist and found a few 03/04 Evo's, nice...but I wanted the 6sp MR...saw a really modded one (I did not want a modded car anymore) and then I found this one...owned by an older cool guy that took very good care of his car...talked, met up, test drove, and yesterday...the deal was sealed...
I'll post some thoughts as I experience them...
so far, I am very happy...
Initial thoughts on the drive home from Hawaii Kai to Kaneohe via Sandy beach way (twisty, hilly...fun). The power delivery is definitely different from the STI...not as explosive on the bottom end. I'm kind of taking it easy because I need to get an alignment so I really didn't get into the boost much...I can tell you this though, even with the stock springs/struts, this car "REALLY" handles well...
I don't have really good pictures yet...pretty much the ones he either gave me or of me taking pictures so I could look at it prior to buying...so the hood is popped up, trunk is up etc...
anyhow, I lucked out with this car...exactly what I wanted...Graphite Gray MR SE pkg, 6800miles, virtually unmodded, garaged, covered, and owned/driven by a responsible adult...

Hey Brent, so you really did pick it up after our short conversation at Pali Highway!! Well, congrats on your new acquisition!! So how is your wife's taking to it!! Now you and Dan can show us the legendary battle between the WRX STi vs Lan EVO!!
I was sure you'd like the feeling of the suspension after I told you my insight on them! THough, you sorta betrayed us, you can still attend our Annual Cruises, You got Cory & Mizzy/Jess to talk too about the EVO'ness!!

Sorry Brent, I had too! I always wanted to post it but never knew any hiic that turned EVO!!

I am sort of turned as you all can imagine...but like I said, to me, both of these platforms are simply awesome masterpieces when it comes to a balanced vehicle...
The pictures look good...but the car looks much better in person...
I really like the front Recaro seats...

Gone to the darkside have we. Congratz on the acquistion Brent, like you, I am a fan of both platforms. If I could have both, hellz yeah I would. That is my favorite color for Evos, and the IX is my favorite. Handling-wise, the Evos are just killer, and yes those Recaros make a big difference (Subaru...are you listening?) Congratz again, hope to see it in person soon. Will be looking for you and the Evo in the Kaneohe area.

Very nice...
I don't take offense to any of this...
In fact...I'm still thinking about this vanity plate:
CNOEVO
Yeah...I took a ride in it and I was like...ok, this is me.

WOW, thats a cool vanity plate. I know there's a site to check if certain vanity plates are taken. Try and contact Burt for the link since I forgot the link. But Congrats again and bring it by the meets sometime
