Speaker Recomendation
Before anything else you probably need to determine how much you're willing to spend. It's easy for all of us to mention the "better" brands but.....it doesnt really matter if they're out of your price range
You also mentioned you want it to sound good, and be able to hear your music....if you go with any middle of the road or better component sets most likely you'll need an amp (which means more $$$).
I'd say figure out what you want to spend. Determine how much work you're willing to do (better components take more work
most of the time). Then grab some of your favorite music and listen to as many different speakers as you can. When it comes to audio, everyone here has different expectations and slightly different taste. You're ears determine whats best (or good enough) for you. Boston Acoustics, Mbquart, a/d/s, Diamond, Focal, etc all make good speakers......but you might love the upgraded OEM ones.
