Is Snell-M2000 the standard I'm looking for for AutoX?

Does it matter if it's openface?

Yes...the helmet must be a SNELL 2000 rated helmet, and it does not matter if it is open or closed- face. I would buy a cheaper one...in a year and a half, you will probably need to get a new helmet to keep up with the current ratings.

Thumbs up

Pat, if history is any indicator, a M2000 should be good til 2008!

If you are going to do more track days as well as autox, I would get a good closed face helmet for both. IMHO.

Thanks fellers. I came across Helmets R Us (http://www.helmetsrus.com/csopfasoandm.html) and decided to take the plunge.
