yes, I think that'd be about the 'size' he may want. Personally, if he's looking for a 'bolt-on', I like the MJM turbo's a lot!
It has old *****

Pics sent to me by Kirk @ PCE:
Note oil past the turbo on the hot side. NOT GOOD.

did you already get a rebuild kit?

They're trying to source a rebuild kit right now. I don't even think the turbo needs rebuilding - it just needs a new seal.

They'll know if the land was machined incorrectly once they take the old seal out and figure out why it let go.

They're leaning towards improper shaft nut torque right now.

Gotta love the nomenclature, eh?

Don't want to machine anything, just want my VF30 back.

Sean,

Not sure how much they'd charge - but I don't want to change the characteristics of the turbo at all.

I want to keep it as near to the stock compressor map as possible so that the "generic" tune I have on my Stage IV unichip is as close as possible.

Alex,
They're still in the preliminary stages of investigation - but they said that the turbo seems to feel tight and with only 500 miles on it they're thinking it was an improperly constructed/installed seal and/or the shaft nut wasn't properly torqued down.

I'll let you guys know any of the details as soon as I can.

Richard...

Just an added thought:

How cool is it that this company is keeping me abreast with e-mails and PICTURES of what they find regarding my turbo DAILY during the holiday season?

I think if all turns out well I'm going to have to give PCE a triple thumbs up!
