just a heads up to all you folks here
HPD traffic division has issued a so called "quota" to their traffic officers who must issue 4 tickets per hour! which means 1 ticket every 15 minutes. this is not a joke i had confirm this with many LEOs that i know. a lot of unhappy people in the department
there is no such thing as a 5 mph leeway anymore they be tagging anything now pretty much to meet that quota daily!
officers will be held accountable to meet this quota if they fail to it can result in being written up and having special privilages taken away as solo detail (Bike) taken away and offers of special duty jobs

heard it from a solo officer and a few other LEO officers. seems like the traffic division officers only know about this the word around the department hasnt spread yet .
from my understanding its pretty much the new major bringing this whole ordeal up. hes pretty much screwing him self over if this last long.

I heard this is bs. And that if something like this was going down, they'd have a campaign like click it or ticket and the dui check points and stuff. I ain't worried about it.

the major is taking some heat from the department on this topic so things may change back to normal
its nothing new to the traffic division guys cause they issue on average 4-5 tickets an hour anyways. but keeping them working straight through the shift seemed to be the problem lately some officers would rack up a load of tickets in a 2 hour period and call it a day.. where as some guys wouldnt even give out tickets the whole day. with this they are watched over and work the full shift. pretty much spreading the "work" load out through the day instead of cruising

What we ought to do is set up a massive speed-limit cruise, as many cars/clubs as possible going the posted limit across all the lanes from Waipahu to Kahala or reversed (or simultaneously in both directions) and be a PITA like the 'Critical mass' bike rides.

They hang out there, by Radford parking lot, and under the viaduct by the Aloha Stadium. Speed limit is I think 35mph. Its easy to get tagged nowadays as you move along with traffic not knowing you are doing closer to 50 mph especially if you are just getting off the offramp East bound..
