should i sell the legacy?
Definitely autocross your car, the whole idea behind autocross is to learn how to control YOUR car. Yes there is sporty cars @ autocross, but then again there are many that you may consider not. There are currently a Chevy Impala, Nissan Altima, A Kia, Nissan Sentra, and even an '08 Forester when Chris and Sue feels inclined to race her. We would like to see more of the Subaru community to come out and try, it's fun!
You'd be surprised. Honestly. I feel I did fine in my car. And if I kept going and practicing I think I might've been kinda competitive in my class...even though my class is a kinda smaller one.

on a side note, i just put in my whiteline bump steer/ roll center kit. need to get an alignment then off to recon station. anyone had any trouble with recons bounce test? the bc racing coilovers is super stiff and i dont get much travel with just pushing it down. it does have travel on bumps on the road though.
Even the stock STi seats lack lateral support, invest in a CG Lock. Without the CG Lock, I found myself bracing against the door while autocrossing. With the CG Lock installed, problem solved, you can just concentrate on driving.

Let me drive it!!!!
J/K!!,as a former owner & racer of an LGT,I think the platform is great for autocrossing.
I placed top ten @ HRP with street tires. The stadium parking lot is a whole different story though.
I drove other legacys there also, and I really think it can be competitive.
With all those mods on the car you're probably gonna be in a street prepared or mod class.
So you better think about how to fit the biggest R-comps you can. You might be able to run some 245's if you get creative.
If you're just gonna come out to have fun, your street tires will be fine.If you're thinking of being competitive R-comps are a must.

it may seem like excuses and they are but all my complaints are rather true. car is overly heavy, seats don't hold "me" in very well.

I had recon on the bugeye...they never tested for bounce and plus there's a way to prove that the bounce test is not scientifically accurate. The bigger test is to make sure that any lights are higher than whatever the law says...this means STOCK lights like fog lights.
With the Whiteline bump steer kit, I believe he is now in SM due to the fact that the kit changes the geometry of the suspension.
