if you have a replacement line, a new filter drier, and freon i can do it for you in one day. we do ac work at our shop but if you wanna bring it to the shop you may have to wait a while.

if youre changing out your compressor that should be a quick job, repair shops will charge you alot for labor although. if you want id be willing to help you out with it but youd need the replacement parts all seals and o-rings, filter drier, freon and pag oil and i could get it done. or like ive stated in the first reply you could bring it to the shop i work at but my boss would probably have you wait a while till its done, but maybe a full day max if all the parts are available.

Kevin...my ac compressor was making a grinding noise...bearings went bad...I ordered a reman AC compressor off ebay...took it to Tony's Auto Air...had him evacuate my freon...I then changed out the compressor, took it back, he once again, evacuated it, then installed the Freon back...His shop is located near the Kapiolani Women's center on Artesian between Young and Beretania street...
I would recommend him to anyone...he is a really nice, honest guy...

Make sure you flush the system and not just replace the compressor. My compressor was knocking and putting metal shavings throughout the system. It took two cans of flushing fluid and a lot of blow downs to get all the metal shavings/fines out.
It was ticking for a long time and all of a sudden started knocking. That was when I stopped using it. Even then, it had a lot of metal shavings in the condensor, evaporator, and lines. I later took apart the compressor and there were gouges everywhere.
