Well if you want anyone to take your complaint seriously here, I really suggest thinking before you post. Especially with a serious acusation like this. As we've all said Rick is someone who has taken care of us in the past and this just seems like it was out of character for him. Perhaps you were just angry about not hearing what you wanted to hear and blew the situation out of proportion?

But back to Rick. If he's helping someone, he'll help them one at a time, and give them his full attention. If he called the guy on the phone when you walked in, he probably had the dude on the phone waiting. I have walked in and waited way longer than 3-5 minutes to get a part, while Rick is on or off the phone, trying to sort things out with other peoples parts. He may not be a multi-tasker (most men aren't, I'm not) but he gives his 100%. But a cell phone pic is not as valuable as a VIN number when looking for parts at a Subaru counter unless you've done your research, and positively found what fits what through different years.

I just find it disturbing to me that someone would rant out on a public forum like this one, of which the post would likely be around for years thanks to google searches, and call out someone by their first name and where they work. I think first you need to figure out if your rant is justifiable and if in fact the person and company were at fault in anyway - and do this BEFORE you rant on forums. Put yourself in other people's shoes. WRXryder, I'm sure you're a nice guy but imagine if someone posted your real name and where you work on a public forum, ranting about something you did at work that's unjustifiable?

I've been to visit the parts dept before, and they do get super busy at times, especially since they are the only subaru parts dept on the island.

First off, I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with Rick from Servco Subaru. Perhaps he had a bad day, and you caught him at a bad time. Still yet, that's no excuse for behaving the way he did if what you say IS true. But you have to understand, All of us here, including myself had great experiences with Rick, so naturally, we find what you say "hard to believe" so will step in and defend him. Your clams of Rick are the opposite of what we all know him to be. For all we know, you might be 100% correct. But we knew him longer than you. So don't take it hard when we dont believe you.

Sure, perhaps you been in the "subaru scene" for years, and your credible as heck on NASIOC. But when you have a new account here on i-club, you gotta basically start from the bottom, and build up your credibility with this community. The easiest way is come out to the Friday Night Meets and introduce yourself, tells us about your history with subies and NASIOC. Or even start a tread introducing yourself to all of us. It really didnt helped your case at all, since your first post is to flame a well known Subaru guy here in Hawaii using his name and place of employment. Hawaii is a small place. Anybody who owns a new or used subaru, is affiliated with the local Subaru Dealership, and supports the local subaru community knows each other like family.

NASIOC doesnt have a strong foothold here in Hawaii. i-club (HIIC) is the primary group here in Hawaii when it comes to the local suabru community. If you plan to stick with NASIOC, its your decision. But if you plan to be apart of this local suabru community. i-club is really only & best choice. We may seem like were all "******" right now, but once you get to know us, and we get to know you better, you'll find that this subaru community is one of the tightest you'll ever be apart of. It's one of the reasons, I'll never leave the subie scene.

FYI, if you want the best deals, check out the Hawaii Classifieds section. You'll be surprised what you find. Even though we have the best respects for Rick at Servco, and we know he tries his best to give us the lowest cost on parts without losing his job. Bottom line is, dealerships are not known for there jaw dropping prices. And pricing in Hawaii is always gonna be higher since everything needs to be shipped. So dont be surprised when you hear the price. Your best bet, just ask us, we might have what your looking for..... I sold my OEM 04 STi spring and struts set (x4) for only $130. another subaru owner needed them and just simply asked.

With all that said, Let me be the first to say, Welcome to HIIC. And I hope this thread doesn't discourage you from joining us. But please in the future follow enzo350 advice and put yourself in other people's shoes, and figure out if your rant is justifiable before posting up in a well known local forum, that the person your flaming most likely will read. I am sorry you had a bad experience with Rick. Like the majority of people that have posted in here, I've had good results with Rick. Not to be rude, but you are relatively new here on island and you should take time to get to know the people in your community...we help each other most of the time (unless you are a tool).

Many of us frequent NASIOC and other Subaru-specific websites, so if you feel the need to "stick to NASIOC", then go right ahead my friend. We use the Hawaii forum to keep each other updated on local things that are going on. If you want to be a part of the community as a newcommer, try this...be humble. It doesnt matter if you've owned Subarus for 15+ years...you're new to us, so try and start off on the right foot when meeting new people...just a thought.

he probably came here with the idea that we still run around in grass skirts and live in grass huts. I had a few soldiers in my time that got stationed in Hawaii that thought that. You would be surprised how ignorant some people can be.

Oh and to the OP, you mentioned what does post count have to do with it? If you are a regular like you say you are on NASIOC, then you know that they judge you over there by your member # and or your title under your SN.

anyhow I have to go and patch this leak in my roof with a banana leaf

I dunno, sometimes it can go either way. I ordered a carpet and waited for 5 weeks before getting a call saying it wouldn't come in. Rick did give me a discount (bringing the cost on part with SubaruParts.com but after waiting 5 weeks I was a bit miffed to find out the part wasn't coming. How can a dealer not be able to get a Subaru genuine part. I also asked for a quote on the center dash bezel, cup holder, and AC vent assembly. I was quoted by Carl (the part time parts guy) around $330. I purchased it the same day from SubaruParts for $158 with twelve bucks shipping. I think for small parts (gaskets, nuts and bolts) the local dealer is good, but for anything else a mainland dealer just has more options and flexibility on prices.
