Really? I suppose you were there when the conversation was being had?.... Either way, as I posted, you can on occasion get a ridiculously high quote on parts. It's not Rick's fault though, he just operates the system. Rick is a good guy but he does have his good and bad days just like any of us.

this guys rick sounds like a dick but. and he def quoted you way to much unless he looked up the accessory struts but still a DB.
but having worked at a dealer in parts i can tell you the pics are generic and look like theve been drawn by a kid. they are black and white and they info in the catalog isnt much help at all and it doesnt use they same codes we would use talkin about parts on here.'
main rule for dealerships visits always bring your vin dont assume the guy behind the counter knows every car or even likes the brands he sells. and if you dont be prepared for a lot of questions they dont have seprate sectiosn for impreza , wrx, sti its just all together. its the same at all company's i work for 5 dif car lines they just through s#it together if its the same chassis. sometimes youll get a guy who knows all most of the people on here know but most the time these guys dont even own a car made by the brand they work for because they deal with them all day and dont wanna deal with it outside of work too.

and im def not backing rick, he sounds like a dick form what u said

just puttin it out there since im a parts guy.

nope wasn't there and never claimed to be. but if you are trying to explain the situation you would think the OP would have given facts and not a made up the round about number of $700 on the strut. the OP clearly states around $700. around $700 means to me give or take $20 even $30 tops. its obvious the OP is making that number up. Shaggy has provided two sources of a pricing 1. RIck and 2. subarugenuineparts.com with the list and customer pricing. so to its obvious the OP is fabricating that number to win votes. but little did he know that 99.9% of HIIC has had nothing but positive experiences with Rick.

Haha +1 for this thread and for Rick. With the amount of Subies we fix at the shop, I've dealt with Rick on many occasions. I make mistakes when ordering parts and he's made mistakes, no biggie. I do know that he is a straight up guy and genuinely a nice guy to talk to. I too, used to live on nasioc too (haha mainly in the aggressive wheel fitment thread), even though I frequent I-club and attend the meets, and I can assure you that your get flamed there too. I mean really, who looks for killer deals at a dealership (At least not in Hawaii)? And why would you want to buy STi struts from the dealer when you can buy Koni's, Tokico D-Specs, or even AGX's for less???? Oh and welcome to Hawaii!

Everytime I went to get parts from Rick I never was treated bad in anyway.
I also got discount on all my parts I got. If it wasn't for Rick I wouldn't have gotten my car running.

15+ years of owning subarus and you wanna go to the dealer to buy struts?

Oh and I'm another "I heart the Rick" customer. Numerous times, and a great guy. Don't feed him the bullshat and don't get the bullshat.

And mike, I loved that CHEE +1. He was trying to raise his post count yO!! Psshhhhh.
