Hey ya guys and gals, so my car's gonna be coming in soon and I was thinking about the safety inspection and recon and da kine.
I have a 2002 WRX, only mods are 17 in. wheels, Greddy Ti-C, and an S202 wing. (Please see photo)

So,
1.) Will I need recon?
And if so,
2.) Where can I get a safety inspection done in Town without getting recon? In other words, where in Town could I get a "mod-friendly" safety inspection done?

And the last question:
3.) Does anyone know a hapa chick from Kanehohe named Andrea H.? She wen' Iolani, c/o '01. (No, I'm not a stalker...)

I would be interested in some info on this as well. I will be using an out-of-state license until August but then I will need to go get my car safety inspected ect..

vf39, sti tmic, 18" wheels, springs, catless turbo back, injectors, and a tune.

Just get recon and pay the usual $15 for safety, that way you do not have to worry about the police.

 

i was gonna get inspected on hickam firestone and the dude said 15 for inspection plus another 5 to check how dark the tint is. he also said i would have for another 4 hours before he could get to it and it was gonna take like an hour or 2. anybody know a place (near ewa hopefully) that can get me in and out quick and just gimme my frickin sticker?

 

w00t! Safety inspection DONE! Just need to reregister to HI plates and I have PASSED!
Called recon directly earlier in the day and talked to one of the techs; he was really cool and answered all my questions in a straightforward fashion. He stated that with the mods I told him about, I didn't need recon and could just go get a safety inspection.

So to anyone in doubt: just friggin' call recon and settle it one way or the other. Yay!
