So if anybody knows where she can take her Jetta and get it inspected car is all stock except tint.

Not sure where to go anymore. I'm sure some one will pm you.
Btw: in sept. they changed the law so now cars with tint that covers the high mount brake light in the rear windshield is also not legal. 35% or not, it won't pass... I heard T&T is fighting it, but good luck getting a s/c with that.

Her car is a 2011 Jetta and she is from AZ and its dealership installed tint. Why cant there be nation wide laws regarding things like this it would make life so much easier. My tint then would be illegal there also but its legit in Washington. Thanks I had TnT do some work for me when I lived there great place.

I think there are some federal/national guidelines that the states follow, but the individual states/counties can have local additions to the laws.Local safety check is one of them for hawaii.
It sucks real bad because this affects most any sedan/coupe/wagon that doesn't have a outside high mount or wing. I hope they're able to overturn this change in the law, because there are a lot of people who would not be legal, through no fault of their own...

Not sure on the % it was on the car when she got it and she bought it brand new so dealer installed. What ever the legal limit is in Arizona. She would probably have to have somebody remove the tint if it boils down to it.

They said nothing about the third brake light just that her tint was to dark. Her ex-husband used to run the auto hobby shop on Hickam and she still knows a guy that works there so she might go there. I'm gonna ask her what % the tint is could have just been the place she mentioned some place called Lims not sure if that's where she went
