On my impreza i got a tilt on my windshield lower than 4'' from the top, is there anyway i can still pass the safety check? anyone knows any service station that are less strict on tint?

since this is your first post let me introduce you to the search button.....this horse has been beaten pretty badly in the past..................and so that you dont think I am a complete dick a general rule of thumb if the tint goes past the top mounting portion of your rear view mirror then it is not legal. and as far as getting a cool inspector its all in who you know.

technically 4 inches from the bottom of the molding on the top of the windshield-
is legal.

however, some manufacturers have something they call a AS-1 indication mark. this is a mark that they set on the glass as a guide for consumers/tint shops to determine what is a "safe" medium for tint. sometimes it may be slightly less than 4 inches--- the whole idea is to keep driver view unobstructed and conform to seat height adjustments also-

** keep in mind that if you have an officer that is a real *****..or vice versa... if your window is illegal the fine is still $287.00 per window.

depending how much lower than 4 inches... some safety inspection stations will not measure unless it's blatantly lower

best bet is to just go to a lot of places and see what they say. worst they can say is no and you wont get a ticket or anything for not passing. youll also know what needs to be fixed after that.
