Rough Shifts and Whining Noise

Alright so recently I changed the ATF on my 02 WRX. The shifting after the change has been kinda jerky, shifts too early or kinda late. It also started making the whine you'd get from a supercharger once it gets around 3k rpm. I tried searching this up, but I know it has nothing to do with any belts or stereo wire. The whine only occurs at the higher rpm. Any ideas would help out a lot before i change the fluid again. Tnks!!

What fluid did you use? Are you sure it is filled properly?

My neighbor recently drained transmission fluid, added oil to crankcase, then realized there was a problem. He then some how added atf to front diff.

He had to end up changing transmission fluid, front diff fluid, and oil to do a simple oil change...over 2 days time. haha

I used the right stuff but regular fluid. So I ended up draining and refilling with synthetic, worked real good after lol. I found a thread on a dude flushing the ATF 2-3 times to get the old fluid out of his XT.
