Recon for STS?
Recon for STS?
I've been trying to find out if a recon permit is required for the use of a short throw shifter without any luck.
Anyone here know if you need the permit? Do you get hassles when you go in for a safety check.?
Thanks!

nope,
only rims 1.5 over stock, suspension mods, and large mods to engine ie (fmic (as long as you keep factory bumper support), sti swap/ motor swap, anything beyond a standard bolt on). Used to be exhaust, body kit, and some other things. Not to worry shhhh we wont tell....

no...
Most people get Recon for suspension mods (obvious lowerered stance) or wheel size. The Recon guys don't look for things like short shifters etc... and most people will not even know you have a short shifter in.
The only reason an officer may even look at your shifter is because you draw attention to it with a loud shift ****...know what I mean?
Anyhow, I wouldn't worry about the short shifter.
