STS options...looking to feel yours :)
Well, had a few horrible turn of events so the wife surprised me with ordering the factory short throw shifter for my 13 sti.
I had ordered the car last year with one but it was delivered with out it. I guess she remembered.
Due to some slight medical issues, I will not be doing the install myself but will call eq tomorrow and see when they have an opening.
I was perusing TIC's holy shifter set a few weeks ago, as well as their cross member bushings and group n trans mount.
Anyone with these local that could weigh in. Should I go for the whole enchilada on mounts for the trans while they are under there?
As for the kart boy sts...anyone local to concord with one so I can see if the "40% reduction in throw" and lowered shifter height is to my likings, rather than just being happy with the "10%" reduction for the factory sts???
Anything else I should consider while they throw this together?
Car is stock other than stage 2+...

I was gonna offer to let you feel it anytime you wanted...
... But then I saw you were talking about short throw shifters, and I don't have one. Damn.
... But the offer still stands if you're interested.

The one I could have let you "feel" has sold but as far as the mounts, well that all comes down to personal driving habits and needs vs. wants.
Do you "want" the mounts also? Possibly.
Do you "need" the mounts also?
Well, some would say "Yes". As for Me, it depends on how hard you plan on shifting the thing through it's life. I know whenever I used a short-shifter or double-clutched I did eventually always were through motor and trans mounts than say the Average-Joe. You're going to be putting the car through it's paces at a quicker rate so having the complete kit-and-kaboodle is worth it to me seeing as the only draw-back is more noise transmitted through the uni-body. if you can "shift right" you may not necessarily need it, but it's worth it down the road.
YMMV.

In my experience, if you are wondering if you should go the extra mile with your toy and you can afford it, then go for it. If not you'll be left wondering if you made the right call until you go back and re-do it

What about shifter height. How much lower does the kart boy or cobb make it.
I am not a fan of really low short shifters...unless the console is tall...which ours is not.

I have all the shifter bushings on my STi and it adds a very solid notchy feel. Its also audibly louder, you can hear it more from the outside. No short shifter for me though.

I'd run them both.
If I'm not mistaken, the factory one changes out the whole system and the other ones are just a modification to that... usually just the shaft and ball location and size.
If you run them both you're have a better.
I'd personally run the factory one and then get this...

Mine didn't change much, I can't stand low shifters either, the nice thing about cobb is it is height adjustable so I made it sit all the way up, love it!
I just recently installed the twm short throw and I really really like it. Just the shifter only vs stock is a huge huge difference in throw and the lower height is nice as well. The overall feel and look of the shifter was really top notch.
