rear brake lock- 04 STi

this morning while parking my car at work- i hear grinding noise in the rear.
i take it for a spin around the block, and it continues. for a second i thought that i had a flat and i was riding on a rim. nope. i drive slowly then yank the ebrake, a loud pop occurs and the noise is gone.

after parking i check the rear brakes and find nothing out of the ordinary. i'm suspecting that it was "locked up" overnight. but i'm not sure exactly how long it was "locked"- it takes me 7 mins to get to work(and i had the music on). when i was reversing out of my driveway i didn't notice it.

anyone else?

*i will move this to technical after i get some responses*
