Car Info: 05 sti, my dream car
i find that the parking brake sticks to the rotors the morning after i drive in the rain. my 05 sti is garaged every night.

for the reduced braking power, its probably a seperate issue. sorry i cant help other than to make sure the brakes were bleed properly.

What pads did they put on your car?

I've experienced this as well; stock pads & rotors, 8K miles.
Seems to happen if the car's been sitting for a day or more.
What's intriguing, is that Subaru sent me a reminder letter saying that my STi is late for it's 6K mile service.
I called the dealer & was told that the Parking brake is inspected/adjusted.
The maintenance schedule makes no reference to this service.

I get this too, but don't worry too much about it. It usually happens after driving in wet conditions and it seems like the pads stick to the rotor a bit as they rust. As you know, rotors can show signs of rust in just a few hours after driving in wet conditions (or in way humid climates), which is normal. Just be sure to do a couple good stops in the morning to freshen them up before you get on any busy roads.

As for the brake job and stopping power. If your brakes weren't bled properly, then the pedal will feel a bit spongy and require more foot force to have normal stopping power. Maybe your pads got replaced with crappier pads that have less bite? If your rotors were turned and pads replaced, maybe you just need to "bed" them in a bit before you can get that familiar stopping power back.

Minor correction:

I didnt mean to say your pads are "crappy". If they bring your car to a stop, then they did what you wanted them to, which would make them "quality" brake pads, and not "crap". I really meant, "Perhaps your current brake pads lack the "bite" characteristics you would prefer in order to suit your particular style of driving?"

Thats the way they came from the manufactor, STi, 350z, G35 and EVO with the brembo brakes all have the same problem. If you take it to the dealer they will just tell you it's the brake dust and they will clean it off, next day or two later it's gonna come back. As toiltbrush stated if they work there fine, just make sure the sound don't get extremly loud.
