Project EJ18T goes to the Dyno...

Happy 4th everyone. I finally went to the MunkyWurks' dyno today, on the Dynapack 2WD dynamometer. No tuning, just 4 pulls at 18.5 psi. I didn't want to go 20psi because I didn't want to be stuck there if something went wrong. Anyway, enjoy, here it is!!

the results:

237.9 whp (280 flywheel hp), 235.5 lb/ft tq (279 flywheel lb/ft tq) at 18.5 psi

As you can see it bogs extremely rich at 3500 - 4000rpm. That will be addressed right away by leaning it out a bit, advancing timing, as well as bumping up the boost duty cycle more in some areas.

This is just a baseline run at low boost to see where the power/tq curve is. There's still potential for over 300 flwyheel hp. Next one will be better, more to come.......

the funny thing was i was there just for pulls only. after the 3rd run, i started fiddling with my settings during the cool down period and then sean kinda gave me the idea that it wasn't a tuning session, lol. he's cool as hell though, he says i pretty much have an idea of how to tune the car. its just that little hole in the mid range that kills the initial power. i look forward to going again after tweaking things here and there.

a combination of me being very conservative on fuel and timing, hence the power loss.

afr's were in the 9's at the 18.5psi setting.

yeah, I was surprised and disappointed. but that map was hardly touched. I usually mess with my 20psi map. I already got rid of that dip today and also improved my 20psi map as well, yipee!!

its at 12.6 afr in the mid range, tapering to 11.6 at redline. its pulling like an ox on steroids. I want to spend another $95 for more. but the wife says.....guess??
