Smile Preventive Maintenance!

Rextang came in today with a knocking sound from the drivers door when the power window is operated. It happened to be the famous loose power window regulator bolts condition. Jason's car is not the first one i have seen, but I don't think that every WRX, and RS (gc8s too) have this problem; although its wise to check or even retighten those bolts whenever the door panels are removed such as speaker replacement etc. If the bolts are left loose for prolonged time, it may cause hole enlargement or and cracked door backing that requires reconstraction of the area. This is not an issue that requires a recall, its not even listed on our technical bulletin-yet . Ive seen this condition mainly on rental cars which have about one or two years worth of usage. Unfortunately this is the time when your warranty expires. Untill an official bulletin is published, we can not remove your door panels and check, unless
the condition is obvious like Jason's car.
