Sorry if I'm way off base here (I don't know a lot about the Subaru ECUs) but as long as you are off boost and running in closed loop (usually <4,000 rpm or so) the fuel is adjusted with O2 sensor feedback. If so (please chime in Richard) you should be able to drive safely with the stock injectors and STi re-flash (once you find out what's wrong and get it running).

This is true, but supposedly there's only a range of authority so big that the ECU has. If the Ecutek does an across the board modifier of injector size - that range of authority may get maxed out even if the car is in closed loop.

It SHOULD work though.

Chris, I have STi injectors new in box that I probably won't need for a couple of weeks. Do you want to borrow mine until yours come in?

Update

Ed (sub-sonic) came by and assessed the problems.

I crossed the main fuel line and the fuel return line.

I tore an o-ring on one of the injectors causing a leak.

Great news!

So what's the verdict? Is it a driver?

Richie, thank you for the generous offer! May I please borrow them?

One thing though, I'm waiting for Sam @turbometrics to have the STi injectors in stock before I place an order. Sam said that the injectors will be in any day. If I do borrow your injectors, I want to give you the new ones that I will receive. I don't feel it right to return your injectors used.

Many Mahalos,
Chris

We haven't started the car because of the fuel leak. I bought replacement o-rings at Lowe's, but they were too big and caused an even bigger leak.

I'm hoping that after market injectors come with replacement o-rings.

I was also afraid to start the car with stock injectors because Brett @Vishnu advised me to take no chances.

Thanks for your guys support!

Chris

I got my injectors from Gruppe-S. They usually have them in stock and I got them in a matter of days.

You're welcome to my injectors, but they're in my Mom's house. You can PM me to make arrangements.
