No complications, I just have a weird feeling that the heads/cams are pretty maxed out currently on the 2.0l motor. With an additional .5l of swept volume you're going to be sucking through a straw. You'll definitely see a boost in power, but the gains will be kept in check due to a limit in airflow through the heads/valves.

The EJ207 in Japan has heads that flow considerably more than the USDM WRX motor (2.0l). Imagine throwing another .5l into the mix and asking the stock heads to handle the breathing requirements.

It's like putting a set of stock BB Chevy oval port heads (from a truck motor) onto a 509cid stroker. It would really benefit from a set of massaged rectangle port flow-monsters...

Thanks for the info. Do you have any suggestions to solve the problem?

I have a few friends that visit Japan often and I asked them if they could bring back STi type RA spec C heads for me. Will this fit on the USDM STi2.5l?

Those would be an AWESOME complement to a larger displacement motor... They should physically fit. Getting the AVCS hooked up is another matter...

Why do you need to hook up the AVCS? It just gets in the way when your making big power anyway

Mitch, if the shop offered nothing but the dyno, I'd be happy.

Chris, I thought I already told you that about the heads?

In any case, those dyno plots that i-speedusa has for the 2.4L against the 2.0L show a good example of what happens with stock heads on a ~2.5L block with no tuning, and then with a little tuning. I've posted that link at least a few times.

I've been told by a little Birdie that there is an AWD dyno landing on this island in <1 month.

You didn't hear it from me.

(Then again I've been disappointed before, so I'm not getting overly excited)
