A plan is coming together... Slowly

So I've been saving for a swap now for a while and I think I have enough moola to start getting things rolling.

I've been looking around checking forums and the like for used USDM Sti motors locally with no luck. And they want too much for them on the mainland + shipping. Unless I come across a local reasonably priced Sti motor/trans drivetrain in the near future I have my sights set on shipping a JDM version 8 Sti Motor/Trans set. it might only be 2.0L but it revs to 8k and feature a broader powerband due the twinscroll turbo.

Just wondering what you guys think?

I say, if you know what you want, go for it. because if it is truly what you want... nothing else matters.

the JDM trans has better ratios and a better center diff than the USDM version. if you manage to snag the whole set, awesome for you. the biggest reason for USDM is because there's no replacement for displacement when it comes to power.

You should look at getting a front clip if possible.
That would probably save you a lot of trouble in terms of all the small headache type things.

Yea hopefully I don't run into too many of those. I'm currently in discussion with a vendor regarding the parts that will come with the motor/trans.
