Perrin Uppipe?

Are any of you guys using a Perrin or Crucial uppipe? Any thoughts on either? Can't decide on either. The Perrin has an interior diameter of 1.65 inches, compared to the Crucial's 1.75. Also the Crucial is ceramic coated inside and out. Both uppipes eliminate the egt, and are made of 321 steel. Oh yea and the Crucial is very hard to find, does anyone know of a company that has the Crucial in stock? Thanks for the help.

That's a hard choice because the perrin uppie is designed with the stock ID size so that the velocity and geometry of the stock exhaust gasses are maintained, oversized UPs=lower velocity/pressure and slower spool.

... On the other hand Crucial is ceramic coated and keeps heat inside the pipe. And retaining heat equates to better spoolup of the turbo and a cooler engine bay.

So I guess in a perfect world I would buy the Perrin pipe and get it ceramic coated

As far as where to get Crucial... ask t3h CHUCKAY (luktang) he is the crucail *****. Yes I love Perrin stuff.

Yes, I'm the Crucial *****. LOL. That Crucial up-pipe is a piece of art! The only thing I would watch out for are the two rear turbo studs... you might have to reverse them caz they are just a little bit (by that, I mean mm) too tall.

I would definitely recommend it! They are currently out of stock but try these vendors, they might have a few left...

Crucial is accepting preorders right now at their website, so check it out. I personally talked w/ the owner Russ, he's a cool guy.

It would be a piece of art if the studs were not too tall and uneeded cutting... j/p SimoN...

Nah, those studs are quality stuff. The up pipe studs and the downpipe (also Crucial) are too beefy. Should've reverse the two studs and it should be fine. I would so rock their new 3rd cat delete pipe (also ceramic coated) if they weren't 2.5" instead of 3"

Another noob question!

Okay guys I decided to get the Perrin uppipe, but not sure if I need to replace the gaskets for the uppipe. The tech at Perrin says that since my car only has about 2000 miles on it, and the uppipe is new not used, I should be fine with reusing the stock gaskets. When you guys put in your aftermarket uppipes, did you get new gaskets, or reuse the old?

Thanks!

I just did an install and replaced the gaskets, I used Copper ones and didn't have any leaks.

IMO - It's worth it to just change the gaskets, you don't want to find a leak later cuz you didn't. Taking it out a 2nd time just to put new gaskets in would suckage.
