PDX e-maps.
Since I can't make the custom tune session in Sept., I would like personal opinions of those of you who have had PDX e-maps done by Jarrad.
What's your opinions, reactions, etc?
I'm thinking e-map until I can get to Oahu for one of these sessions.

Hey Ed, just to throw a little teaser out to you. When I had my first tune done last September, we all had to email Jarrad our mod list and our goals for the tune. From there, he created a similar Email type base map to start off with. This, as others have already stated is a better map to begin with, than the Cobb OTS maps. On my '04 wagon with a VF39 and supporting mods, my baseline pull was around 260hp and like 240 ft/lbs of torque. THEN, with the protune, Jarrad was able to dial in another 15hp and around 22ft/lbs of torque more than that original PDX base map.
PDX base map = Good
PDX Protune = Even Better. Hurry up 2009!

Here's what I need to consider.
I can't just drive over to Rad and jump on the dyno. I have the additional cost of bringing the car over on the Superferry from Maui. I did a little number crunching and calculated that bringing the car and family over for the session was going to cost close to $1,000.
That's a lot for 15 whp/22ft lbs. I could do a lot of stuff to both my STi and my race Miata for that money.
My question, is with that info in mind, is the custom tune still justified? I know it's better, but is it worth $1,000?

The E-Tune sounds more like what you'll need. While not a PDX Dyno-Tuned map, it'll be better than anything you have in your AP right now.
I even got a base map for larger injectors that was just to get me to the dyno (when I first went to 740's)
You can believe a good number of us will stand by the E-Tune from PDX. it just works better.
Cobb AP Staged tune: Good (opinions vary)
PDX E-Tune - tuned for your mods: BETTER (mostly positive and they work with you if you are willing to send Datalogs)
PDX "in person" Dyno Tune: BEST.... without a doubt.
Just my 2c
