traffic lawyer in PDX (please help)
Yep, yet another speeding ticket / traffic lawyer thread...
I need to get a traffic lawyer to fight this ticket. Please post recommendations.
Before I get all the "You should have been going the speed limit... suck it up" posts come up... I'll have to say:
YES, I should have been going the speed limit. I usually do. I was speeding ONCE because I was late for thanksgiving dinner and 20 people were waiting for me. This is one of the FEW times I speed.
Was I dangerous? Only to myself... nobody was on the road and I could see plenty ahead of me. I wouldn't have been speeding (as much) should there have been other people (4 lane road).
Anyway, I WOULD suck it up, except that I can't. The fine is for $600 (yay for fine increases) and they aren't reduced. Not to mention my insurance will sky rocket. Damn, this is why I've been trying so hard not to get a ticket.
If I don't get rid of this, I'll have to sell my car... not have a car... not be able to work / go to school (live far away).. and the dreaded cycle will just spiral down.
Anyway, please give me recommendations. And yes, I was stupid.

Ask over at nasioc, they speed like demons over there and have the lawyers lined up to cover it.
And: Don't speed. You admit you were going over the speed limit, right? Who cares if you were not the only one on the road, the little black and white sign on the side of the road is for your safety too. When you take a corner and wrap yourself around a tree, sure, you only killed yourself, you were only a danger to yourself, but MY insurance rates go up, and MY taxes go up to cover the emergency vehicles that respond to dislodge your corpse from the gaurdrail.
Drive only as fast as you can afford.

Yes.. yes... I know... speeding is bad.
But come on, can you HONESTLY say you NEVER sped AT ALL in your entire life?
I think I've conciously sped maybe 3 times since I got my license... maybe 4 AND not not around windy roads or busy streets.
YES, it's dangerous... but come on, saying you are perfect is also hypocritical. I was running late for thanksgiving dinner... 20 people were waiting. If it was something that would have just effected me.. or people I knew well, I would have gone the speed limit.

I appreciate the fact that Majglow came right out and admitted he was wrong.
