I like the up-pipe, .... but Not the downpipe. Alot of these guys are using the downpipe without any problems or anything, ... I just Really don't like the design, and would never pay money for it or recomend it. My opinion of course.

I agree. I want a FULL bellmouth for the price you pay. Or at
least a divorced wastegate design.

The up and downpipes have given me nothing but smiles.
I will say that the one Richie (Palaban) was looking at, bosal I think, looked pretty nice, too.

Love my PDE uppipe (thanks Jayson!).
Didn't like the design of the downpipe too much. I love the TurboXS unit in my car.

I was thinking about the helix, until I heard that they were having some manufacturing problems. Something about the fitment wasn't good. They say future dps will be better, but we'll see. I'll probably get the PDE or the Perrin.
like has been said, ... I just felt like saying it again, .... the PDE downpipe, ... or ANY downpipe designed like that, is, IMO, a total waste of your money. but do what you like.
the TurboXS bellhousing, or something like the BPM twin dump, is the best and only way to go. WHY spend the same amount of money on something that doesn't even compare???

Aren't you being a little over exuberant? You act as if the PDE doesn't have any positive effects. I agree the PDE may not be as good as say the BPM, but you can't just buy the BPM downpipe without buying the whole system. The PDE opening is approximately 3 and 1/4 diameter and eliminates 2 cats. Compared to a maximum of 4 inches. But lets get real the PDE does have positive aspects, it adds a considerable amount of power, is easy to get, it is well constructed, mates up well to most any cat-back system, doesn't throw a CEL, and is cheap. I know there are better ones out there for the same price and I recommend those more, but they too have their drawbacks.
For example, BPM you have to buy the whole Turboback, not a good choice for someone who has shelled out $600 for a cat-back. (me)
TurboXS, you may need to have some custom fabrication done if you don't also buy their whole system and it throws a CEL. (Mike)
Scooby sport. Just plain hard to find.
Etc, etc...
BTW, how many PDE downpipe owners here are unsatisfied? I'm not convinced that is was a "total waste of money"

v-rod waited along time to get up & down pipes. He wanted to get "better" ones than the P.D.E's. But then just got the P.D.E pipes, what does he have to say about them?

There was an issue about fitment, but Gruppe-S has addressed the problem. Some of the mounting brackets may need trimming. The remaining downpipes in stock have already been fixed. I'll post up a review after Infek and I get it installed with the Gruppe-S uppipe.
I know it's just a pipe, but the Helix sure is pretty.
