Um....just so you know b...the pincers that actually sting you are not the two long ones sticking out of the back....they are actually at the head of the centipede...

okay, so they are the tiny legs under the antennae? wasn't sure where the big nasty looking legs were from since mini-t mashed them off and i found them seperated already.
damn, the bite/pinch marks are pretty wide apart, the pede must've taken a bear hug kind of grip for the front tiny legs to stretch that far.
also, there was a little red/inflamed part that doesn't sting or hurt about 1 1/2 inches below from him. i wonder if he tried to take a bite out of me and then when i grabbed him, he stung?

Here's the Vietnamese Centipede (one of the two types we have on O'ahu)

If you look closely next to the first segment from his head you'll seee a "fat" leg that curves back around towards the front of his head with a black tip - that's the nasty bit that injects venom. It could have been that it didn't inject any venom on one of the bites, but from what I hear, these things are just too damn aggressive to *not* inject any venom. The bite marks can be pretty wide apart though - Mine was a good quarter of an inch I would guess. Ask Joey... he gets bit every other day I think.
