Cliffy,

Isn't there something we could make into a sticky about the Ferguson-Moss, or whatever it's called, for all the new folks?

actually it is possible. let say some stupid person really doesn't know how to install a fog light correctly and crossed a couple of wires with out fuses and walla blown out head lights or even better yet a burned out electrical harness. all that won't be covered.

same thing applies to stereo systems. lets say some idiot doesn't put in a fuse and runs 4ga wire to his amp. in the middle is a splice that is covered with tape. just think what will happen when that slice gets exposed and there is a short to the battery. sparks will fly and something could explode.

trust me it is possible. i've seen both happen. my friend that works for toyota showed me the car with the burned out harness. the harness was a $1000 fix that was voided b/c the idiot thought HIDS were plug and play in his celica. (he tired to pass it off by putting in the good stock bulbs back in and saying that it doesn't work now) the stereo was my friend who was in high school who installed a system into his girlfriend's car. at least i corrected all the problems before anything happened but shorting out a battery wouldn't be pretty.

moral of all this. be safe and know what you are doing before installing stuff.

edit: b/c i have no english skillz and my grammer sucks.
