Unhappy Need help with E-brake!!!!

today I noticed that my e-brake light will stay on while i'm driving my car even tho my e-brake is all the way down and the only time it will disapear is when i push the gas. i don't knw what its from i don't really use my ebarke unless i'm on a hill and parking. Is there a nut that i can play with that will make the senser go away? or is there something messed up??? i did a search but it didn't really help much they talk more about wrx then my car which is a 94 impreza L fwd.

this might be a really stupid question-
did you check the brake fluid level?
(reason why i say that is that i had a 84 corolla once-same symptoms- filled with brake fluid. light disappeared.)

i think greg might be on the right track. i had this prob with a car of mine. it turned out to be the master brake cylinder was bad. it might also be that it is stuck(ie: rusty so the spring won't release it). take off the boot and see if the switch is dissengageing. check the cable for play or lack there of and try adjusting it a little. i would have someone look at it. you might have the same prob i did. hope this helps, L8R

Put more fluid in up to the MAX line see if that helps. I've seen that do the trick before.
