Motorcycles on Oahu?
Motorcycles on Oahu?
Who here rides? Curious if its even worth getting a bike once I get there. I sold my 954 and my ZZR1200 before moving to Vegas a couple months ago and just not sure its worth spending that kind of money again for a bike on an island.

I used to ride. I sold my bike before I came to the island and I regret it everyday. My friend has a bike that he lets me borrow every now and then because I helped him fix it when it was broke.
If I don't get the STi I'm buying a bike.

No helmet law for motorcycles. Bicyclists must wear head protection though.

Oh yes. Get a bike that is designed for turns as we dont have that long of a freeway system here, unfortunatley. An no helmet law. But I used to love showing off my 600 dollar helmet to guys who only spent 100 bucks on theirs.

v twins' lower rpm torque is quite usefull in zippin' in and out of
of the cagers lane. My S-vee seems to better than my gixer for that matter. Dukes are awesome but my co-worker had had problem finding a good mechanic for it. Maybe its just him.
Are you in the military? I asked because you're required to take the
Motorcycle safety class in order to ride in the base.

usually you'll pay the fee out of your pocket, when you finished and passed the class the dealer where you bought your bike from will reinburse you ($170). But you dont have to take it though- although its cool to have 10-25% off on your insurance.

I would love to own a Ducati but I can't fit on one. I rode a TL-1000 ( I know, not the same...) though, and I have to say that I prefer the torque of a twin versus the four.
