my Cobb and helix came in today and I think I might have ****ed up the ECU.. like I went through all the steps..
Plugged in green test connectors under the wheel
Turned on the car(got the CEL flashing)
Plugged in the AP itself
Initialized and had me select a map..
I went with the stage1 91 Octane since I don't have catless DP on yet
Then it told me to turn off the car and re-start and I accidently started up the ignition(I'm a dumbass)
Once that happened it went straight to the "Could not communicate with ECU! Press OK/Cancel message?"
After that I tried to repeat the whole process but I can't and the car will not start beyond the ON position, like the ignition wont start. Also the CEL does not blink even when the test connectors are plugged in..
I am really scared right now.. Has this happened to anyone? Is my ECU killed? I really need some help in figuring this out? Please help me if you can.

i would (if you havent already) disconnect the negative terminal on the battery and then step on the brake pedal a couple of times this will reset the ecu and let it sit for about 30 min. or so. after that connect the battery back up and see if the car will start. if it doesnt you more than likely messed up the ecu or ap or a combination of the both. the only way to be certain is to swap ecu with someone of the same year and model of your car. other than that call cobb come monday and describe to them the symptoms of the car.

^^^ Try what he said.
You shouldn't have messed up your ecu unless you turned off the car while the ap was flashing your ecu. It sounds like it just didn't communicate. Unhook the test connectors and try and start it. If it does start be sure to drive around some to recharge the battery. If it doesnt start, let it sit for a while and then try and start it. I wish I was there to help you.
Hope that helps. Good luck.
Also (not tryin to be a smart *** cause I did this the first time I hooked up my AP) make sure you are pushing the clutch in when you are trying to start it. (with the AP completely disconnected.) I was so freaked out that I thought I screwed it up that I forgot that important part.

Thanks for the replies.. its killing me cause I am stuck working all night and can't do anything about it until the morning..
I think I will try disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery and then pumping the brake a few times and letting it sit. I'm really praying that my ECU isn't dead. can't really afford to be without a car, but I can manage if I have to be for a little bit. .
I have a buddy comming tomorrow to try and help me out of this jam..

do the battery disconnect, and brake thing first, if you can get pass the initial part and go into the base maps screen, then you have no problem with it.. I had somewhat a similar problem with it too... I had a bad cable and Cobb sent me a new cable with a cool shirt for my troubles that I had with it. Drop me a Pm if you need help wit it

Forgot to post an update over here..
All is well now, basically we disconnected the Neg Battery terminal and let it sit for an hour. Then plugged the AP back in and had it revert the ECU to stock form.. all went well and I was able to upload a stg1 map onto my ECU.. car is definitley pulling a lot better and I want to say the exhaust is even flowing better.
I will be going to stg2 next week once my catless DP is installed.. then I get to see what the Cobb is all about..
ps - Thanks for all the replies

good to here everything is well!!!! (not being a smart ****) next time follow the instructions to a T or have someone help you. I usually read the instruction a million times it maybe overkill but it keeps me from making small mistakes. good luck!

Yeah...good to hear you got yours working...it's a pretty scary thing when you experience something like this...
I always get this sort of feeling when I update my BIOS on my computer...you want to try and turn everything off and minimize disruptions while flashing anything...
Glad it worked out for you and Kudos to those that reponded so quickly to your emergency!!!
