In a HUGE JAM.. please Help!!!

my Cobb and helix came in today and I think I might have ****ed up the ECU.. like I went through all the steps..

Plugged in green test connectors under the wheel

Turned on the car(got the CEL flashing)

Plugged in the AP itself

Initialized and had me select a map..

I went with the stage1 91 Octane since I don't have catless DP on yet

Then it told me to turn off the car and re-start and I accidently started up the ignition(I'm a dumbass)

Once that happened it went straight to the "Could not communicate with ECU! Press OK/Cancel message?"

After that I tried to repeat the whole process but I can't and the car will not start beyond the ON position, like the ignition wont start. Also the CEL does not blink even when the test connectors are plugged in..

I am really scared right now.. Has this happened to anyone? Is my ECU killed? I really need some help in figuring this out? Please help me if you can.

ut oh

Is your car making a "clicking" sound when you turn the key like the engine is trying to turn over but can't? If you are getting the error message that says, "failed to communicate with the ecu" I think that's sort of equilivant to the blue screen of death on a PC. Talk to Cobb customer service, they'll be your best help in determining the problem/ sorting out a solution/ as to whether you actually fried your ecu or not. Good luck, and I hope your ecu isn't actually fried.

Yeah, I bet you were scared ****less. I messed up somewhere when I initially reflashed mine too, I went through the steps again and if finally worked. At first I didn't think my car was going to start.

yea everything is working fine.. running the AP stg1.. pretty noticeable power increase.. will be going to AP stg2 next week when my catless DP is installed.. set-up will be K&N Typhoon, Helix catless DP, HKS Carbon Ti, and Cobb AP.. looking forward to milking the STi's stock turbo for all I can.. still debating on whether or not I should upgrade my turbo.. definitely can't afford right now

Thanks again for all the replies and genuine concern..

yea man.. especially when it was trying and trying but the ignition would just not start.. not what you want with a new car with 8,000 miles on it haha..I definitely have to be careful and read directions more carefully..

In the map notes for Cobb, I noticed that you are supposed to use the stock intake only. Have you noticed anything with your K&N typhoon?
