Yes. Our car will not run on pump fuel. People that run there STI's on 91 octane will no doubt damage the engine and or cause shorter life. Our car would det Audibly around 4k rpm's bone stock.

It also looks like the ECU sees a certain amount of MAF voltage and YANKS timing and dumps fuel to keep things on the "safe" side.
Dynocomp pulled off the VF39 and installed a APS 450... The car made MAD power until the airflow read too high and the ECU cancelled the show.
It looks like there's going to be some ECUTEK reflashing necessary to get big power out of the STi's computer...

Ok.... Just got home from dyno tuning the STI... Good news and bad.
The bad news is the ECU put up its dukes and put up a hell of a fight. Carfull data logs showed the bad news.
When you get over a certain amount of Grams a Second on the MAF the ECU removes all advance and dumps fuel. Its exactly like the Audi's do with the Bosch ME7's. The advance runs right to 15 degrees and holds to redline and the injectors go static.
I can reduce boost to just below that threashold and it will make decent power but one thing is for sure. Around 350hp worth of air and she shuts the party down. Boost cut is at 17.5 psi for more then 2 seconds.
The good news is the top end power came up and in fact our peak power was made at 7000 rpm. When the Rom file for the ECU is done we will be able to tune this out and I expect to make gobs of power with this engine... Just not now. We kinda got ahead of the game a bit but someone had to do it... The car is full ready to make 400+ with the parts that are installed and will as soon as we tune it..
