LAN cable
I just got back from Korea (it rocked) and I picked up about 300m of CAT 5 LAN cable for about $25
. I have a crimper tool and connections, I just need to know the color order on the connections. As far as I remember, as long as both ends are the same color order, everything is kosher, however I seem to remember that one set needs to be swapped.
The end result of this will be that I can LAN wire anyones house who wants it done for nothing but the cost of beer.

There are 2 color standards, and you need to do more than just have matching colors at both ends due to the category 5 specifications (has to do with the wire twists. The most common color standard is the EIA/TIA 768B standard (768A is rarely used anymore). It is as follows:
Pin 1- white/orange
Pin 2- orange
Pin 3- white green
Pin 4- blue
Pin 5- white/blue
Pin 6- green
Pin 7- White/brown
Pin 8- Brown
Pins 1+2 are Transmit and ping 3+6 are Recieve.
You need to have the twists in the cables maintained as far as possible to maintain within spec (if I recall 1/2" is the max allowable untwisted portion of the cable).
If you buy any patch panels make sure you get the 768B versions.

It's official. I am using my homade LAN cable to write and post this. Here's a pick to prove it. Notice the Gray cable with the shiny green lights next to it.

Congratulations!
I have a cable tester if you ever have problems. I string cable almost weekly and I'll occasionally get a bad crimp.
P.S. Netgear rocks!

the way i do it is
i hold it up, the rj45 facing up. cable from the bottom. look at it from left to right. starts with white/orange then orange. if you need a tester, i have two. one double pairs one and another one double/single pair with data transmission test+length tester.
