hello, um i have to give a quick demo for a class about how to wash, polish, wax. (i know im missing out on the steps like clay bar and stuff) but chime in what u guys do and why.
i am curious as to the technicality of why polish as well as why wax.
can someone help?
also i need small parts of the car to polish and wax, if anybody willing to lend a stock hoodscoop or something please do. thanks, i know it isn't easy to lend someone something, but thought i'd give it a shot . (black preferred)

First I need to know what you know now, then I can fill in the holes specifically. As for your question about Polish and Wax, they ARE different and heres why:
Polish is the step before waxing, the polish is what gives the paint the deep color, depth, and gloss. Polish nurtures (spl?) the paint by adding oils back into the paint. Polish will also fill in, and sometimes polish out light scratches as well. This is the condensed version, but you get the picture. Polishing would be step 4.
Wax is basically there to protect the car's paint from comtaminants and the elements, such as fallout, bird crap, etc. Some waxes have UV protectants to guard against the suns rays dulling/fading the paint. Waxing would be the final step, step 5.

well, i have to do a quick demo on car polishing and wax. i don't want to get too in depth and what not. basically i was gonna say after wash, and demo how to do the steps for polish and wax..
1-wash/dry
2-clay bar?
3-swirls removal types of things
4-polish
5-wax
so i guess i should be more indepth on steps 4 and 5, such as diff't waxes like synthetic and what not, plus like polish and what not. stuff like that.
i'm green to all this, so i'm an open book to all your guy's ideas, and tips.
thank you.. i've read up only on the polish and wax on other forums as well.

can i borrow stock hood scoop or something for a demo?
hello,
so here is the situation. i need to give a demo regarding polish/wax (sorry for numerous thread), and i need to borrow something to allow me to bring inside the room to do a demo.
i was thinking maybe a hoodscoop will do or anything?
i know it is a longshot, but i thought of trying, i know that it isn't easy to just lend someone something, (as it can get messed up). but just to give it a try.
well, just thought i might post or something. the demo starts on monday next week (it was assigned this week) and i kept thinking and asking around. i was thinking of getting a hood up to the class, but that'd be too humbug.
anyhow thanks..
