Sort've like working in a explosives manufacturing factory...daily, monotonous drudge with a little more risk than daily life.

We got rocketed a little while back and it reminded me why I wanted to remain an Infantryman. While I'm in this job, I'm not surrounded by competent, steely-eyed 20y/o killers. We went out to the bunkers and I realized that 99% of the folks who work near me were probably not the people I'd want to recruit into a small team in order to react to infiltration or attack. They are primarily the clerks, supply, communications, intelligence experts. Of course, you know I'm being very PC in my description.

At least I know that it will be over sometime. This ain't fun compared to being with the 'tip of the spear'. Those days are over for me.
