strange noise

Maybe when we have time, can i get a ride in your car Juno?? if it is like a dunk like you say, i could have sworn that i read somewhere that some TEIN's have made this noise. maybe Fri night or Sat afternoon we'll ge together K.

i get a "tick" on my brakes when i slow down. i was told it was completely normal on 02 wrx's on auto. i know yours is a 5spd 03 so i don't know how i can help but it sure does sound like what happens to my car.

Sounds like fore-aft clearance in the brake pads to caliper surface. If that's it, it's common and is nothing to worry about. We used to shim REALLY picky Lexus owner's pads - but that was just to placate them, it didn't do anything to the functionality of the brakes.

If you're paraniod, you can always bleed the brakes. Couldn't hurt.
