Unhappy Insurance Hike

Just got hit with an increase in my insurance. Company is telling me more and more Subaru's are getting into accidents so insurance is costing a lot more. I'm experiencing +$200 more. Anyone having this same problem?

Subaru has announced that they are not going to use aluminum exterior panels anymore due to the high cost these days(doubled over 2 years). Older subarus with the aluminum panels will cost more to fix these days. My insurance did go up also.

It also could be because there are more wrxs on the road than before. More cars, more accidents.

GEICO for an '05 WRX -
Last period (Aug '06) bill was $564
This period (April '07) bill is $705

They tried to jack it up for my previous period, but I called to find out what the deal was. They explained that when I had insured the car initially (the day I bought it) they had no data and used the '04 year as a base. They had a full year of data in August and that was what prompted the increase. I explained that I have never gotten a ticket, am over 25, etc. and they said they would get back to me. I got a new bill a few days later that was the $564 price (I think almost $74 less than the previous had been). I might try it again this time, but I suspect my luck has run out.

When I lived in LA insurance rates were based off your zip-code. Does anyone know if that is the case here, or if it is just one rate island-wide?

Subaru is becoming the new honda for dumba$$es. they go buy one, put an exhuast on it, street race everything, die.
And because they are dumb $hits, we have to pay for it. that is the ghey.

I predicted that one when I had my 03.

I've been with AIG for many years..since picking up my 02 wrx two years ago my insurance dropped...

24 yr old with 2 speeding ticket's and a few parking violation's...not my fault i swear..

1st yr was $155 month so $1860 year

2nd year currently is at $95 month so $1140 year

anyone with AIG that's in the military ?...there site says military discount but i think it's for active and not guard ...i guess i'll have to follow up...
