I'm pretty friggin pissed right now...

Well, to make a long story short... someone put some screws mounted with washers standing straight up under my BRAND NEW tires mounted on my BRAND NEW wheels (17x8 5zigen FNO1RC's with Kuhmo Ecsta 712s on them)... while I was at work. Consequently, I left work not knowing this and backed over the both of them. The culprit put one (identical screws with washers on them) behind each rear tire of my car, so I know it was sabotage. I was able to get one out that didn't pucture all the way through (behind the left tire), but the second one (identical screw with a washer in it) made it all the way through and is pretty much leaking air out as I write this. I'm guessing the hole is probably 1/8 of an inch wide. I'm trying to comprehend why someone would do this, but I'm pretty much at a loss for words... this just ****ing pisses me off beyond belief since I've only had them on my car for 2 weeks now.

Sorry that was long, just had to vent... my question(s) to you guys is:

should I get the tire repaired, or should I just suck it up and buy a new tire and replace it altogether? ...And if I do repair it, do you think it would be safe to autocross/road race/drag race them? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance guys.

silver satin- thanks for the reply... I was doing some searching on the tire and wheel forum and found this thread:

https://www.i-club.com/forums/showth...ht=tire+repair

Just so happens to be HIIC veteran's talking about patching tires =). Still a little skeptical about the tire patching though... Oh well, I guess I'll give it a try. Any more suggestions?

P.S.: the puncture was dead center in the middle of the tire's TREAD. If you're familiar with the Kuhmo 712s they have a 1/2 inch groove in the middle of the tire tread; and that's where the hole is located.

Yea used to have some. I have patched tires before it'll be fine if done correctly. You just don't ever wanna patch a motorcycle tire if a shop is willing to do that go somewhere else...Bike two tires - car four tires.

Wow, that's pretty nasty. Someone must really have it out for you, if he took the time to conspire the whole thing and carry it through. Where did this happen?

Well, dunno who has it out for me here... seeing that I've only been on island for about 2 months now =). This happened at the Windward Shopping Center (corner of the Likelike and Kam Hwy).

If you're ever doing any performance driving, patching your tires won't do. You'll have to replace them. If you don't plan on autox/track then theres not really a point to just replace, just patch it.
