How much and how long for shipping

I guess if I want a Legacy LMTGT I have to get it from Oregon or via internet sales,..

Anyone know how safe it is to order from mainland (From Fitzmall or Joe Spitz at Cars101)??

I dont know how careful they would be in shipping a new car (cause I gotta fork over $25k+) and what assurances I have of my new car not getting damaged,..

Anyone bought a new/used car from the mainland and had it shipped over by Matson ($900 and 3-5 weeks;website info)?

can anyone share their experiences?

I thought it would take a long time to save my money,..now that I have the money, its taking a while to purchase my car,...How frustrating and sad,..boo hoo,..

I dunno about having the dealer ship it... they might have inside info/deals.

I shipped my car from Los Angeles using Horizon... took about 12 days from when I dropped it off. They warned me before hand that it could take longer and have delays due to port issues, and things outside of their control. I think it really depends on how much volume they're seeing. Oh yah, car arrived in the same condition I dropped it off in... but if it doesn't, that's what insurance is for.

Matson is pretty ok.

You gotta make sure the car gets a good coat of wax beforehand though...when I got my old car it had a layer of soot/sea grime on it. Good thing I double waxed it beforehand.

Good thing about OR is no sales tax so you end up saving a bunch to make up for shipping it!

Anyone use Northland shipping? That is what Joe Spitz (car101.com internet salesman) referred me to. He says that they were a good shipping CO too,...

I believe there are only two carriers to Hawaii. CSX Lines, and Matson. All others contract space on the boat for containers, etc.

I second the recomendation to get a good coat of wax on your car prior to shipping.
